SMOG SHOPPE//STANCE SOCKS

This past Tuesday night at the Smog Shoppe in Culver City, you could find bloggers like me and Natalie Off Duty plus surfers, skaters, punks and poets all there to celebrate the Stance Socks Holiday collection.
You know I love my Stance Socks, but I was also excited to check out Smog Shoppe because it's solar powered and one of the most sustainable event spaces in America.

There were all the trappings of a perfect party - pizza, margaritas, a photo booth and a DJ -
Oh, and we all left with cooler socks!

I REALLY LOVE MY STANCE SOCKS

( Vintage dress, Stance socks)

Awhile back my friend Johnnie from FOAM mag asked if I would contribute some images to Stance Socks #howwekickit blogger campaign.
 I happily obliged.
I love socks!
Johnnie said they would send me a pair to style and I was over the moon with excitement when they sent me a whole box!
I'm sure you've seen them cropping up in my outfit posts these last few months and now that I'm free to officially plug them I can tell you that they are awesome, super soft, perfect weight-amazingness. In these photos I'm wearing the breaker sock.

Mark Champion might be a little jealous. He sometimes likes to remind me that although he takes all the photos for the blog he never gets any of the swag.
Poor Mark.
Maybe I'll scoop him up a pair. I want to get these for myself anyway:)

ROCKN'ROLLA

I'm borderline obsessed with Vintage Rock t-shirts right now and this "death to the Pixies" was a major score. It works on so many levels! Great fit, great color and great graphic. I can't believe I found it and this brocade mini skirt at the same time! Sometimes the shopping gods are with us. I always say to strike while the iron is hot because we've all had days where for the love of God nothing looks good or feels special.

I want to do more shopping videos in the New Year and share more visits to stores in LA that I love. Would y'all be into that? Hearing about my favorite thrift and specialty stores?
Nothing beats a great shop!

If you're like me you're probably going to tons of holiday parties this weekend and may need some fashion inspiration.
While I don't have time to blog about every outfit you can follow me on instagram to see what I'm wearing this holiday season. I'm @ameliaalvarez

THE BOOT

( OLUKAI BOOTS-gifted, STANCE SOCKS-gifted, CANDYSHOP VINTAGE glitter CLUTCH, THRIFTED JACKET AND SKIRT, TRINA TURK POLO - OLD)

It got real chilly this weekend in LA. So chilly that a knit cap was relevant and tights were necessary. We shot these photos in Griffith Park on Friday just as the cool front was rolling in and I had goose bumps!

I'm very excited to introduce you to my new Olukai Koana boots
Bloggers get lots of emails asking to feature products on their sites and I often turn down ones that don't jibe with my personal style.
But I was excited to hear from Olukai.
At first I thought they were offering me a trip to Hawaii and FYI that would definitely vibe with my personal style!

But I also really liked the shoes.
They looked cute and outdoorsy and they hit at the ankle so it was sort of a no brainer.
The boots arrived on Thursday and no joke I have not taken them off since.

They are soooo comfortable.
I love how unisex they look. The quality is great and I could walk all over Manhattan in them and not get blisters.
So good!
They also come in a very awesome tan color.
I can't wait to take them up to Big Sur in a few weeks and get them nice and worn in.
Thanks Olukai!
