Ladies in the know bought pink coats this week.

Looks like me and blogger babe Atlanta Pacific were officially twinsies today. Both sporting the same Zara hot pink top coat on our respective blogs this Monday. She paired it with the matching shorts for a sophisticated look while I dressed it down with a neon dress and what else, suede booties. Isn't it fun to see how different bloggers style the same piece? FYI: I may have been planning on returning this coat today and that may not be possible since I've been wearing it all weekend. C'est la vie. I've given the credit card a sweet rest as of late.

Urban Legends Art Exhibit: Opening Night Party

(Rachel Pally dress, Zara topcoat, Botkier clutch, Dolce Vita boots, Alexis Bittar jewelry)

At the opening night party for Urban Legends: Public Art From Around The World. I wore the Rachel Pally neon Bianca dress with a Zara Jackie O coat on top. The Moonshine cocktails were surprisingly err, potent. At the press event we got to hear artists like Judy Baca, Vyal and Kent Twitchell talk about the importance of public art. The exhibit is extensive and impressive. On display at LA Mart and Design Center until May 26.

Thursday Breakfast

(Charlotte Ronson skirt, Madewell trench, Gap t, Botkier purse)
Some days you wake up craving a more decadent breakfast than normal. That's when it comes in handy to have a diner at the bottom of your street! For a spontaneous breakfast date with my husband I wore this leather pencil skirt paired with a plain grey t-shirt and Madewell trench. I also had on JCrew oxfords (not pictured) and killed two birds with one stone by carrying some clothes to the dry cleaners in this Frida Kahlo bag that I picked up on a trip to Tulum, Mexico. Who says you can't walk in L.A.?

Tee Pee X Clotheshorse NYC

I was just so flattered last week when Clotheshorse reader Jessica Brennan surprised me with this illustration. Jessica is a wonderfully talented visual artist and she has an online boutique where she sells her Tee Pee line of t-shirts, tanks and totes.  Check out her site and support this cool girl.

(BDG jeans, Botkier purse, Adam chambray, Ralph Lauren cami and Vintage necklace)
On the way to Umami burger in Neon jeans, a haphazardly buttoned chambray and striped cami from Ralph Lauren Rugby that I've had forever. Watched Winters Bone for the first time last night. It was so good! Gearing up to see Hunger Games this week. I'm late on this I know but my sister said I had to read the book first.
The Emerson Fry shoe giveaway is still going for another week! Enter Here.

(Madewell trenchcoat, H+M jumpsuit, Bruno Magli vintage heels, Alexis Bittar cuff)
This trench is the only clothing I bought on my trip East. A sound investment since I've been wearing it everyday since.

Have a Cozy Weekend

I've so enjoyed working from New York this week and hope to return soon. I'm already planning what our next home here will look like (see above). It's never too early to start a mood board.

Walk This Way

Me and Grasie after the Free People event in our Free (people) shirts. I love me some tie dye.

Hipster Baby Books by Benjamin Reynaert

I just got one of these for a friend's shower. They are unique, handmade baby books for children born into a world of Ray Bans and organic produce. I thought it was the perfect thing for an already tres chic child whose mother is a designer and whose father is an Episcopal minister who moonlights as a dj.
Wouldn't it be cute if our parents had Hippie Baby Books to show us? Welcome to the world Daphne Field Zahl! In further Daphne news, her bedroom was featured on Apartment Therapy last week and it's officially nicer than anywhere I've ever lived. Check it out here.
Oh to be Daphne!

Blue Crush

(Urban Outfitters dress, Swatch watch, Alexis Bittar bracelet)

This is the mini version of my latest obsession; lace dresses in bright colors. Also seen here.

Have a Hometown Weekend

Lydia Hearst via

I'm in Baltimore, MD visiting with the fam and we're all heading to Philadelphia on Sunday for Easter at my brother's place. I'm so happy to be home on the East Coast!

Free People + Coachella

Oh my!
What's that you say?
Coachella is happening next week?!?

Too bad.
I'll be in NYC.
Oh well, I'll console myself by wearing these amazing festival shorts!

(Jean #6, Vintage hat,  Mouchette henley)

Grasie and I attended a Free People fashion show this Saturday in honor of Coachella. It was a misty afternoon in Topanga so I kept it casual - purple henley, high waist denim, oxfords and this hat. Thanks to Free People for the awesome Coachella themed gift bags. We took some pictures afterward in our new tie dyed tees. They are bitchin'! Will post later in the week...

Neon Jeans

(BDG denim, Botkier clutch, Ray Ban sunnies)
Yesterday I did something crazy...a 24 hour "tech fast". I think I invented this expression and I think it will become immensely popular in the next few years so I'm a gonna copyright that one right here and there. Or is it here and now? Anyway, a tech fast. For a whole 24 hour period I forbade myself from instagraming, tweeting, facebooking, emailing, blogging or surfing the web at all. I'm so grateful for the convenience of these technologies but I also find them distracting and compulsive. It was so relaxing, I think my Sundays might be tech free from here on out. Join me and share your results! How would you end up spending the day? I'll tell you this, it's gonna seem really long.

A note on my denim. I really wanted a pair of colored jeans this season and while I loved the ones from Current/Elliot I didn't want to spend $200 on a trend piece. I found these at Urban Outfitters and I'm very happy with the quality and price. They fit true to size. Check em out here.
