GOODBYE 2009, HELLO 2010.

This was an interesting year. I spent the past week with family and eating... A LOT. Certainly eating way more than any human hoping to spend much of 2010 in front of camera should have been eating. Undeniably more than anyone going to Puerto Rico in less then two weeks should have been eating. Was it really necessary to follow a dinner of ham and potato pancakes with cobbler??? Especially if you had Chinese food for lunch? Ekk.

But I digress, I also spent a lot of time this week thinking about the past year and the year ahead. What am I striving to accomplish this year? What are my dreams? What would I like this year to bring me? What would I like to bring to others? I think that often we don't get what we want and life is definitely full of surprises but it's nice to at least be able to articulate to ourselves and to the universe our desires and intentions so that we don't end up in December of 2010 wondering where all the days went. LETS START HERE.

Tonight is the first night of Winter break, hence I got a major burst of energy to stay up past my bedtime. Normally I am so consumed with the events of the day and the up-coming events of tomorrow that I make sure to turn in before midnight. Tonight I am rewarding myself with white wine and catching up on my other favorite bloggers. Mark and I exchanged gifts tonight and he got me a bunch of RAD jewelry from my new favorite online boutique CANDY SHOP VINTAGE, based out of good ole' South Carolina! Featured in this story is a stunning Vintage Turquoise piece from their collection. The original designer was Whiting Davies. It reminds me of Joni Mitchell, Laurel Canyon and bohemian luxury which is a look I seem to want to relive again and again.
IN THIS STORY; FOREVER 21 HEADBAND, VINTAGE DRESS, VINTAGE NECKLACE, BOOTS BY COLONIAL MADNESS.

METAL GOD

This is a photo of me and my friend Matt Porterfield. Matt is a very talented film maker from Baltimore. His last film Hamilton has an almost documentary style realism to it and people often compare him to David Gordon Green. He is currently editing his second feature Putty Hill.
This summer Mark and I were pushing along the East Coast, on the last leg of our road trip. Who should we run into at a gas station nowhere near home...Matt. Just one of those, random, freakish things that make you wonder if the world is really so big after all.
